Group Treks

Group Treks are online, asynchronous, and personalized courses for educators. This course format is designed for you to work collaboratively with a friend or colleague. You can even recruit a group of educators to take the class with you! Each Group Trek session lasts 5 weeks. There are specific start and end dates (see schedule below), but you can work at your own pace and time. There are no face-to-face or synchronous meeting requirements. Group Treks work best for teachers who teach the same grade level or content area.

The course activities include watching videos, reading articles, applying your new learning, and reflecting on course content and current teaching practices. Each course requires 4 assignments. However, you can replace one of the weekly assignments with a Get Outside activity. Because of the Group Trek option, you are allowed to work on activities with your peers and submit identical assignments.

Each Group Trek can be worth 1 graduate credit, 2 graduate credits, 20 PDC points, or 40 PDC points. It's your choice! If you choose to take a Group Trek for 2 graduate credits or 40 PDC points, one extra assignment will be required. This extra assignment is the only assignment you will be required to work on independently. To earn 3 graduate credits in one session, you would have to register for more than one course.

Please register at least 2 weeks prior to the course start date.
