Group Treks
Group Treks are online, asynchronous, and personalized courses for educators. This course format is designed for you to work collaboratively with a friend or colleague. You can even recruit a group of educators to take the class with you! Each Group Trek session lasts one month. You can work at your own pace and time, and there are no face-to-face or synchronous meeting requirements. Group Treks work best for teachers who teach the same grade level or content area.
The course activities include watching videos, reading articles, applying your new learning, and reflecting on course content and current teaching practices. Each course requires 4 assignments. However, you can replace one of the assignments with a Get Outside activity.
Each Group Trek can be worth 1 graduate credit, 2 graduate credits, 20 PDC, or 40 PDC. It's your choice! If you choose to take a Solo Trek for 2 graduate credits or 40 PDC, an extra project will be required. To earn 3 or 4 graduate credits in one session, you will have to register for more than one course. New Teacher Trekkers can earn up to 3 grad credits or 60 PDC in their first session. Returning Teacher Trekkers can earn up to 4 grad credits or 80 PDC each session.
Sessions start on the 1st of every month and end on the last day of the month. Register and pay by the 25th of the month before your session month to receive the Early Bird rate. For example, if you want to take a course that begins on April 1st, register and pay by March 25th. After the 25th, the price increases. The course fees are listed below.
